We at Silke-Amsterdam have a predilection for ancient Greek mythology. That is why Venus - the goddess of love - could not be missed in our candle collection. This mold is based on Venus de Milo in the Louvre museum. Where many Greek statues of gods are holding something in their hands, most of the times the arms in these statue have been damaged over the years. In case of Venus de Milo, it was decided not to restore it, for fear of disturbing the nature of the work. The therefore rough appearance and the story behind it were reason enough for us to offer you this candle. Also, it saves you a return trip to Paris.
